Certain infectious diseases such as salmonella, measles, shigella and others must be reported to the Vineland Health Department. Upon receipt of such reports, Public Health Nursing staff investigates the case or cases in order to control the spread of the disease in the community. The Vineland Department of Health is offering flu shots for residents of the City of Vineland. Anyone who wants to lower their chances of getting the flu should get a flu shot. It is highly recommended for people who are at high risk of getting the flu. This includes people:
• 50 years of age or older
• All children from 6 months to 18 years old
• Pregnant women
• Diabetes
• Heart Disease
• Asthma
• Kidney Disease
• Caregivers of infants or the elderly
