The Vineland Health Department works to control the spread of contagious diseases in Vineland through education, counseling, screening and immunizations.



Contagious Diseases

 

Certain infectious diseases such as salmonella, measles, shigella and others must be reported to the Vineland Health Department. Upon receipt of such reports, Public Health Nursing staff investigates the case or cases in order to control the spread of the disease in the community. To report an infectious disease, or if you have any questions about communicable diseases call 856-794-4000 *4806.

 

Flu Shots

The Vineland Department of Health is offering flu shots for residents of the City of Vineland. Anyone who wants to lower their chances of getting the flu should get a flu shot. It is highly recommended for people who are at high risk of getting the flu. This includes people:

    • 50 years of age or older
    • All children from 6 months to 18 years old
    • Pregnant women
    • Diabetes
    • Heart Disease
    • Asthma
    • Kidney Disease
    • Caregivers of infants or the elderly


 

All children ages 6-59 months enrolled in child care, preschool or pre-Kindergarten are now required to receive at least one dose of the flu vaccine. Questions? Please call the Health Department at: 856-794-4000 ext. 4806.

Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention

 

 

FREE "fingerstick lead testing for underinsured or non-insured children ages 6 months to 6 years of age and case management to all lead poisoned children. Contact the Cumberland County Health Department for more information: (856) 327-7602.

 

 

HIV Testing

 

Free, rapid HIV testing. Test results available within 20 minutes. Walk-in testing every Tuesday 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at STD Clinic.

 

Monday - Friday by appointment at Health Department. Call 794-4000 *4806 to schedule an appointment.

 

STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease) Clinic

 

FREE clinic for testing and treament of sexually transmitted diseases (gonorrhea, syphilis, chlamydia, etc.)

 

No appointment necessary. All information is kept confidential.

 

Clinic is held every Tuesday. Must come in for registration between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m.

Blood Pressure Screenings

 

  • Senior Center (6th and Elmer) the 1st Wednesday of every month from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

  • City Hall the 2nd Thursday of every month from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on the ground floor.

  • Luther Acres the 3rd Friday of every month from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.
